So what does a Wedding Planner really do?

While wading through the depths of pinterest yesterday I stumbled upon this amazing article from Lauren Grove at Every Last Detail. We often get asked exactly what we do and sometimes it's hard to answer with just a couple of sentences. Lauren really hits the bouquet on the head with this full summary of everything we do! Check it out below! - Planning Checklist & Schedule. Ah, what every bride has to have, right? I mean, you really can’t plan a wedding without knowing what has to be done right? Having a planner create a custom checklist and schedule for you- and remind you when it’s time to get crackin’ on the next task- is pretty awesome. Besides, they have planned a wedding before- you haven’t.

Fancy Feathers

We have a tiny bit of exciting news to share! Come September we will be back in the land of country music for another shin-dig, and we could not be more excited! This will be our second southern wedding and we are diving in head first. Our first Nashville wedding was a totally timeless fete with inspirational pulled from the great skyline and clean lines of the venue. This event is a completely different look and we are really looking forward to flexing our creative muscles.

Pretty Paper

It's no secret around my house that I adore paper/stationary. It might be my constant list making or my secret love of sketching wedding gowns that keeps some sort of notepad within arms reach in all corners of our home. (On a side note, I recently went through my college notebooks and found the notebooks rather full of drawings of table arrangements and wedding gowns rather than notes...I must have picked the right field) And the notepads can't just be a regular old notepad, they have to have a purpose and be pretty, form over function, see I wasn't just pretending to be Vera Wang in class, I did learn something.

Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Baker

We were so honored to be a part of Melissa and Josh's big day. You could not find a sweeter couple anywhere and their wedding reflected the love they have for each other as well as for their friends and family. Their wedding took place in Nashville, TN at the amazing Bridge Building. It sits right on the water and it is simply breathtaking. We were even treated to The Zach Brown Band as they played just over the river. You could hear them perfectly! Pretty amazing. For the design, we used a combination of golds, creams, deep lilacs, and hints of green to create a lush look that would complement the architectural detailing of the Bridge Building.

Chic Baby Showers for the Modern Mom

While we have no little ones running around here at PLAN (Besides Pip and Nora but I don't think they quite count as offspring) we have been blessed to the hilt with new bebe's from our dearest friends. Some are brand new and still so tiny and precious. Some are growing to fast, we're looking at you Miss Janie. And some are still waiting to make their debut. As party planners we truly feel that every occasion calls for centerpieces and cake but a baby shower is especially special.

Save the Date!

Hello Lovely Readers, One of our delightful brides posed a question to me last week that I thought I would share. She asked, "Do I have to send 'Save the Dates?'". The simple, one-word answer is NO. No one must send Save the Dates. However, there are certainly instances where you should.

1. Are you having an out-of-town wedding? Send that Save the Date! If your guests have to make special travel arrangements, or if you're having a destination wedding, the Save the Date will give your guests more time to prepare for scheduling and cost.

Picking those Perfect Colors

As soon as that ring hits your finger you most likely will be pelted with a series of questions. A close second to, "When's the date?" and "Where is the Wedding?" is the loaded "What are you Wedding Colors?!?". For us, we take this question very seriously. After every consultation we sit down and brain storm a color story and mood board for that bride. We really take it as the backbone of the whole event. We think about the location, the couples interest, the time of year, and what they are gravitating to color wise.

Autumn Beauty

It’s technically been Fall for almost a month, but yesterday was the first day that it really felt like Fall. Clear blue skies, a crisp breeze, and crackling leaves underfoot; the scent of cider and cinnamon and the hint of wood smoke. Autumn has always been my favorite season, and every year I look forward to breaking out the sweaters and watching the neighborhood kids head back to school. Fall is the perfect time for a wedding, but it’s really easy to fall into the typical “Autumn Wedding” color palette.
